Vitamin C

Posted by Amanda Appel on

Vitamin C is one of the most widely used ingredients in skincare and a potent antioxidant. ⁣

Antioxidants are important in our skincare routine as they protect us from free radical damage - neutralising the production of these highly reactive molecules. Free radicals are unstable atoms that can cause cell damage and are found everywhere from UV rays, exposure to air pollution, smoke, fried foods, pesticides, and many other chemicals. ⁣

For these benefits alone Vitamin C should be a staple product in everyone’s routine however the benefits don’t stop there, Vitamin C has plenty of other properties that make it worthy of a permanent place in your skin care regime. When applied topically Vitamin C stimulates the production of collagen and elastin to help keep the skin firm and plump and has skin brightening effects to combat unwanted pigment.⁣
