At Bloc Skincare, we’ve always believed that healthy skin shouldn’t come at the cost of a healthy planet. But we knew we could do more - especially when it comes to the waste created by empty skincare packaging.
That’s why we’re proud to introduce our new partnership with TerraCycle, a global leader in recycling the “unrecyclables.” It’s a small step that we believe can make a big impact.
The Beauty Waste Problem
Did you know that over 120 billion units of cosmetic packaging are produced globally each year? Most of it ends up in landfill - largely because tubes, pumps, droppers, and multi-material packaging are difficult to recycle in standard kerbside systems.
We heard your concerns. We saw our own empties. And we realised: our packaging needed a second life.
Why TerraCycle?
We chose TerraCycle because they specialise in exactly this kind of challenge. They break down hard-to-recycle materials into raw components that can be reused to make new products - from park benches to garden beds.
For us, it was a no-brainer. TerraCycle shares our commitment to circular solutions, and their track record gave us the confidence to launch a program that’s both simple and impactful.
What This Means for You
With our new TerraCycle recycling program, you can now return your clean, empty Bloc Skincare packaging instead of tossing it in the bin. You can send it by post or drop it off at Bloc Warehouse - 10/3 Enterprise Street, Molendinar, QLD 4214.
Just give them a quick rinse, dry them out, and you’re good to go. We just ask there to be a minimum of three products in your recycling return shipment to ensure energy & freight efficiency for shipment.
Our Bigger Picture
This isn’t just a box-ticking exercise. We’re rethinking the way we create, use, and dispose of products at every stage - from sourcing ingredients to packaging design and now, end-of-life solutions. Our partnership with TerraCycle is part of a longer journey towards a more circular, low-impact skincare brand.
