Acne Skincare

Dermatologist-formulated skincare that addresses the real causes of breakouts, not just the surface symptoms. Built inside a working dermatology clinic. Refined across nearly a decade and 25,000+ patient appointments each year.

Understanding Acne

Most products treat the surface.
Dermatologists treat the cause.

Clinically matched.
Dermatologist-recommended.

Each product in the Bloc Acne Regime addresses a different mechanism of acne, so you're not just treating the blemish you can see. You're interrupting the cycle that creates them.

Effective acne skincare has to address all four drivers. Not just the visible blemish. A cleanser that clears the pore. An active that regulates oil and calms inflammation. A moisturiser that rebuilds the barrier without adding congestion.

01

Excess Sebum

When oil glands overproduce, the skin's surface becomes congested, creating the environment where acne begins. This is a biological response, not a hygiene failure.

02

Blocked Follicles

Dead skin cells mix with excess oil and block the pore opening. Without targeted exfoliation, this leads to blackheads, whiteheads, and deeper inflammatory lesions.

03

Bacterial Environment

Inside a blocked follicle, acne-causing bacteria proliferates. It's a normal part of the skin's microbiome, but in the wrong environment it triggers the inflammatory response that causes a breakout.

04

Inflammation & Barrier Damage

The skin's immune response causes redness, swelling, and pain. Over time, repeated breakouts and barrier compromise leave post-inflammatory redness and uneven skin tone.

Why Bloc Is Different

Formulated inside a working dermatology clinic.

Bloc Skincare was founded by Dermatologist Dr Michael Freeman and Dr Andrew Freeman on the Gold Coast after growing frustrated with conventional products packed with unnecessary fillers. Every formulation was developed for their own patients first, refined over nearly a decade of clinical use before being made available to everyone.

A Dermatologist's approach to acne, simplified.

Dermatologists don't prescribe one product, they build a protocol. Dr Michael and Dr Andrew approach homecare with their own patients. Each step earns the right to the next.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • If your skin is sensitive as well as acne-prone, we recommend beginning with the Gentle Cleanser rather than the Deep Cleanser, and introducing the Pro-B Serum at a lower frequency, every second evening initially. If you find the full ~10% Niacinamide concentration reactive, the Antioxidant Serum contains approximately 5% Niacinamide and may be a gentler starting point. Speak to our team or your pharmacist if you'd like guidance specific to your skin.

  • The Deep Cleanser contains active exfoliating acids, so a slight tingle during use is normal, particularly in the first week. We recommend starting every second night and building up as your skin adjusts. The Panthenol (Vitamin B5) in the formula actively supports barrier recovery after exfoliation. If you have very sensitive skin or are new to AHA/BHA products, begin with the Gentle Cleanser and introduce the Deep Cleanser gradually over two to four weeks.

  • Most acne face washes are too harsh and strip the skin. Bloc’s Deep Cleanser is science-backed, calming, and non-drying. It treats breakouts without compromising your skin’s barrier.

  • Definitely. It’s perfect for teens with oily skin or hormonal breakouts.

  • Skin cell turnover takes approximately 4 to 6 weeks, so most people begin to see meaningful changes in breakout frequency and clarity within that time frame. Some people notice reduced redness and oiliness in the first two weeks. The Bloc Acne Regime is designed for consistent, long-term use. Results compound over time, and the reorder cycle for most users runs at 3 to 4 months once results become visible and habitual.

  • Yes. Its combination of AHA's and BHA's helps clear congested pores, reduce blackheads, and balance oil production.

  • Most acne products are formulated around marketing claims, not clinical evidence. Bloc was built the other way, starting inside a working dermatology clinic with formulations created for actual patients. Every ingredient is chosen for a clinical reason.
